Citizens Association to Save the Environment; Sierra Club of Western Canada v. Administrator, Pesticide Control Act
Panel: Linda Michaluk, Harry D.C. Hunter, Vicky Huntington, Dr. Majorie Ryan, Dr. Max Smart
The appeal was from Pesticide Use Permit 214-012-92 authorizing aerial and manual application of Foray 48B (BtK) for european gypsy moth eradication.
The grounds for appeal included concerns about the federal registration process, the effects of the pesticide use on the environment, the existence of natural predators, the use of aerial application and the cost of the program. The Board found there was no evidence presented to support the Appellant’s contentions and dismissed the appeal with no permit amendments.
